Frequently Asked Questions

Is this program considered "Purely Positive "?

“Purely Positive” dog training is a training method that focuses solely on positive reinforcement and rewards, without any use of punishment or correction. We prefer to use “Positive Reinforcement,” as we reinforce good behavior with praise, treats, or other positive stimuli. However, unlike “Purely Positive” training, we will address dangerous or bad behavior if necessary. If your dog likes to chase cars on busy streets, we certainly don’t want to ignore that behavior.

What's the difference between Clicker & Marker Training?

Clicker training and marker training are both forms of positive reinforcement training. Still, they differ in the specific type of “marker” used to communicate to the dog that it has performed the desired behavior. A “marker” can be a verbal cue like a “YES!” Clicker training is just what it sounds like: a clicker marks the exact moment a dog performs the desired behavior. The choice between the two often comes down to personal preference and the dog’s specific needs.

Who is this program designed for ?

This program is for any dog owner who is ready to begin their pup’s dog training journey with an early introduction to basic obedience commands. It is also perfect for dog owners who aren’t yet comfortable with e-collar training or other traditional balanced dog training methods.

What rewards are used in positive reinforcement training?

We use different training rewards for different dogs. Treats are the most commonly used reward in positive reinforcement training as they are highly motivating for most pups. But we may also use clickers, toys, verbal praise, playtime, etc.

Is there an age requirement or breed restriction?

Although there is no specific age requirement, if you have a new puppy, you should call us first so we can decide together the best time to get your puppy started.

Client Success Stories

satisfied customers have seen remarkable changes in their dog's behavior & composure

Great organization that really works with your dog to make sure you are both comfortable while training. I have a very hyper, 85-lb pit bull that really needed help learning to focus on my commands so we could be out in public safely. I worked with a couple different trainers based on my schedule, and now feel like a more confident dog owner

We had such an amazing experience working with Antoine at the Off Leash K9 Training facility in Peachtree City. Our Great Pyrenees mix has always been a lovable family dog, but she also is a big girl and her unchecked ‘sass’ and high-energy nature could make her tough to control on walks and when around other dogs.

The Off Leash K9 Training Team was an absolute pleasure to work with. I did their two week boarding “bootcamp” and it was the best money I’ve ever spent on my pup. They went above and beyond to film videos of our fur baby showing off his new manners (and tricks). Highly recommend them to other dog owners who want to see significant improvement (and would rather let the pros do it much faster than doing it themselves…)

Bryan and the crew at Off Leash are outstanding. They really care about your pet throughout the training. It is easy to set up the schedule of training to your calendar and the location of their facility in Peachtree City, GA is convenient and easy to find. They are patient with your pet during each session and ensure you are prepared to teach your pet the training learned for that week and then review it with you upon your return.

I found Off Leash K9 Training through a google search and I chose it because of all of the positive reviews. Mike Trimble is an amazing trainer. He was patient with my rescue dog Phoebe and I could see changes in her behavior after the first training session. This is a great place to train your dog and I would recommend it to everyone who’s looking for a facility. Ask for Mike!

Best thing i did for me and the little man. Off Leash K9 Training is the best, I did 2 rounds at Pet Smart with very little results. After the Off Leash K9 Training the results are amazing. I recommend there training to anyone who has a puppy that is strong willed and won’t stay focused.
